Catherine has represented a variety of manufacturers as lead counsel in asbestos and personal injury lawsuits involving product liability and in consolidated cases that involve multiple plaintiffs. She has substantial experience litigating asbestos-related cases before the federal and state courts, as well as before a variety of supreme and appellate courts.

While at Brobeck, Vogel worked on asbestos cases, including those of respondents to the Asbestos Claims Facility in Northern California. The case files contained SEAR forms (Short Evaluative Reports Encapsulated), which contained confidential information about the claimants. These included medical reports and work histories, as well as a list asbestos products that plaintiffs worked with or near. Vogel was required to have a password to access the files and was able to look over the SEAR forms of any case at her current employer.

In addition to its extensive trial and appellate experience as well as its vast trial and appellate experience, the Bowles Rice Asbestos Team is well-known throughout the country for its ability to negotiate settlements on behalf of its clients. In this capacity, the company collaborates with the lawyers of plaintiffs in the creation and implementation of settlement agreements. It also has extensive experience in defending businesses against appeals.
