1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good alternative for those who want a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dustbin of the robot when it is full.
Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on floors and carpets and are able to move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it may come across. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it left off. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes around three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It is self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or via the app.
In our testing the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our runner-up and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

The main drawback of the V10 is its sluggish run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are a bit misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. It's enough time to vacuum the typical home, but not enough to reach every spot. (A second time generally works). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is significantly better on carpets with low pile.
