Don't waste your time trying to pin down Frank Ocean's rhyme or Kanye West posters reason for when he releases new music. After a prolonged silence leading up to Blonde and Endless, Ocean has been putting out new solo-tracks and hip-hop songs via his Beats 1 blonded RADIO program. Continuing his slow and sporadic drip of new material, Frank Ocean released his two latest hip hop songs, "RAF" featuring A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, and Quavo, and a solo version of "Biking." The original "Biking" featured Tyler, the Creator and Jay Z and premiered in April. The solo version is comprised of Ocean's smooth voice and sparse instrumentation of acoustic guitar and ringing beats. The overall tone of one of Ocean's latest track is thoughtful and enticing. On the other hand, "RAF" starts out as rather ambient before moving into the steady flow of A$AP Rocky slewing, "I done come up / Bustin' up a whole bag / Broke ni**a step back." The track goes on to feature Ocean trading his normally smooth and crooning voice for a delivery that goes in. He postures himself as a swaggering hard-hitter, referencing his dinner with the Obamas at the White House: "Anna Wintour cool with my mama / And it's winter cool, need a bomber / Plate of ravioli at Obama's right right / Mix the ravioli, stuffed with diamonds."

Detroit MC Danny Brown recently penned a single to be featured on HBO's Silicon Valley. But this isn't the first time the show has featured the latest hip hop songs, previously including the work of Run the Jewels. Brown's latest hip hop song, "Kool Aid," will be featured on May 14th's episode of Silicon Valley. In signature Brown style, "Kool Aid" is in-your-face and stimulating from the second Brown opens his mouth. But "Kool Aid" isn't the only track to be featured on this week's Silicon Valley; Los Angeles' Old Man Saxton and Mount Cyanide also released "On My Own" for the episode. "On My Own" takes a very different approach than Brown's track, opting for slow swagger over loud posturing.

Chicago's Chance the Rapper and Canada's Kaytranada teamed up to produce new hip hop song, "They Say." The duo had previously worked together on Chance's Coloring Book. Like Ocean's latest hip hop releases, "They Say' also premiered on Beats 1 radio on Pharrell's OTHERtone program. This latest song is just in time for summer, providing listeners with a warm and fuzzy soundtrack to their sun-soaked activities. The song opens with Kaytranada's typically intense and layered production, but is quickly balanced out by Chance's playful and melodic timbre. The chorus is marked by pianos mixing with Kaytranada's beats, making for a feel-good mix of both artists' styles. "They Say" is another example of Chance's ability to release tracks that are simultaneously radio-friendly, gospel-inspired, and progressive. Towards the end of the track, Chance sings, "I ain't no stain, I am for free / I am a promise, capital P." With this his latest hip hop song, Chance again makes it impossible to listen to his work without cracking a smile.
