The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot cleaner robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as a dirt detector) are positives.

Be sure to inspect your robot's brushes for tangled hair as well as large debris, and wash them when needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dust bin and place it in a larger bin located at the base. This helps reduce the amount of fine dust that gets released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other top iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. And it's less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it's not as good as other hoovers when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and offer cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm is perfect to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuums with mop vacuum/mop to complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on different floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite loud which could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than some of its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the home based on how dirty these areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, it is worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to instruct the robot vacuum cleaners uk on which part of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice command. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuum to pick up where it left off can be extremely useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would expect from its price tag. It is a great job vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but is more prone to getting caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that is less intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
