1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also come with carpet boost, a feature which boosts the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.
It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and operates when you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're required to, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in seconds.

The RX3 is more advanced than the price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.
