Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep your floors tidy enough to reduce the frequency of manual hoovering. Choose one that has excellent navigation, is able to sweep corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that has to be emptied only every few times.
There are models that mop and charge themselves, which is a feature important for families with children or pets. A lot of the top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it is full.
Both robots are good in removing dirt and dust particles on carpets and hard floors and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ does not feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have tested. It could get stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests cleaning the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might come across. Also, keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or its battery is empty it will return to its docking station and automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it started. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and a half continuous use. It takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot i7+ Roomba
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your best robot floor cleaner by voice or via the app.
The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and to vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests show, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a common battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of an average-sized house however, it's not enough to clean every area (though a second run-through usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on a robot. It was able to remove the majority of types of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area many times to give an efficient clean. Its flat front allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top choices such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has less parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better navigate itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled with the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more durable, has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation options.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86% of it. However, it wasn't particularly well at avoiding taller objects like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested, and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.

This feature lets you to monitor your pets or children while you are away. The dustbin and filter can be washed for quick, easy cleanup. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
