Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep your floors tidy enough to cut down on the frequency of hoovering manually. Find one that has excellent navigation, is able to clean corners and stairs and also has a large dust bin that has to be emptied only every few times.
You can also find models that can mop and charge themselves which can be beneficial for those with pets or children. Many of the top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a great alternative for those who want a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot once it gets full.
Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and are able to move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or any other Top rated robot Vacuum-rated robots we have tested. It could be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot recommends that you tidy up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other items it might come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dustbin and filter clean so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station, and it automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. It then continues cleaning from where it began. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. iRobot i7+ Roomba
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or through the app.
In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces kinds including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room and sweep an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households and can fit nicely on the coffee table or shelves where you can wave it around like an enchanted device.
The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that can provide energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and collect large dust or crumbs. It comes with three suction settings to meet the task at hand. It can quickly switch from handheld to floor vacuum and vice versa.
The model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also offers the ability to connect two attachments and a wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a typical not an extraordinary run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. It's still enough time to clean most of an average-sized house but not long enough to get every single area (though a second run-through usually will suffice). However, this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is significantly superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is a basic model that's a great option for those who don't want to spend too much on a robotic vacuum cleaner sale. It's capable of sucking up most types of debris and sizes during our tests, and often goes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. The flat front of the unit allows it reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice addition.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.
The Xiaomi Mi best robot vacuums vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, because it has a longer battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand, comes with physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It also feels better-built and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a greater variety of automation options.

In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for some buyers.
The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that you can access via the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the best robot vacuum's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your children or pets while you are away. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure an easy, quick clean-up. The app allows you to steer the robot manually, if necessary. My living room rug, for instance is darkly colored which could cause a problem for other robots. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border without registering it as a cliff. Also, the ability to program weekly cleaning schedules is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
