20 Reasons Why Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Will Never Be Forgotten
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be ideal for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some models have superior mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should select if you're looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms extend out slightly more than other robots, which can be helpful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It is easy to set up and works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum to mop, you will need to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This will result in an effective, consistent cleaning which is also relatively fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach places. The side brush can be stretched out to extend to the floor, close to the walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent build-up and reduce odors.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
The device is costly, but it comes with a lot of smart features. However, it's important to remember that it carries recurring costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every three to six months.
This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. It has a power button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot vacuum cleaner best is divided into two parts that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture a large amount of hair that our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels were low and there were lovely jingles that inform you that it was starting and getting its work done.
Its main drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to swap out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some distinctive features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock which doubles as the robot vacuum with mop's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink as well as an automatic vacuum and mop 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base also comes with a set of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning task or recall the robot hoover and mop or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it gets caught in a hazard, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.
Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.
On the bright side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum cleaners best, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
