1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They feature motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture leg. They also have a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's thus susceptible to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with cameras that let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and works while you're at work or school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be replaced with a wet one in seconds.

Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a range of floors and rooms that had different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes and cables.
It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our testing thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and a little more cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

It also has an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house based on how dirty these areas tend to be.

Additionally a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum mop cleaner robot pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might expect from its price tag. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad, which uses an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms for better performance. The app also gives access to a host of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
