The best robot cleaner Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its surprisingly affordable price and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for tangled hair and large particles and wash them if required. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dust bin and place it in a larger bin at the base. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They have motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they utilize smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also feature a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't come with an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you are at work or in school. The only thing it lacks that you don't get in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover (Clinfowiki`s latest blog post) for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo makes use of advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it also learns the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This will help prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuums with mop vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competitors. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It features advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's a noisy unit, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and some extra cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For larger houses it's worth looking for a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a specific area of your home using the app or voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. Also, a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would think from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto vacuum and mop-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app offers a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we've test. It also comes with an app that is less intuitive and has a tiny base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
