1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have examined. They have top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top pick) they employ smart mapping technology to design detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also have carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot vacuum with mop's performance when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned quickly.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.
Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a bare-floored home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can work while you're at work, or going to school. The only thing it doesn't have that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and an automatic vacuum and mop robot bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones using the app that is well-designed. It has a battery lifespan that is similar to other models.
You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog socks, turds and cables.
It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competition's compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaners uk we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has a simple mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable however it's more expensive and make more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum cleaner reviews mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also comes with an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house based on how dirty these areas tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, you should consider choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have number of furniture. For families with busy schedules, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.
5. iRobot Roomba RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than the price suggests. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to make cleaning schedules, set up a spot clean or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms for better performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that is less intuitive, and a smaller base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
